Do nearly half of renters pay too much toward rent?

The WSJ had some interesting statistics on rent inflation versus wage deflation in the article noted below. I would expect to see these type of numbers in high rent cities like San Francisco or NY but not nationwide. Either way, the all the new, higher priced apartments locally have certainly helped push this trend.
